5/21/19 (Buckets’ Record 10-8)
Been a little busy the last couple days with moving out of apartments and everything. However, we’re back after keep afloat over .500. Currently in the Apple store trying to get my computer fixed, so not my fault if these picks are wrong.
Indians at home after losing a tough one last night to the A’s. Trevor Bauer is starting, so I trust the Indians to win a bounce back game. They used a series against the O’s to jumpstart the offense as most teams will be doing this year. I think they get it done tonight.
Pick: Indians (-130)
After a tough series against the Phillies, I think the Rockies bounce back with German Marquez on the hill. Plus Chris Archer has been pretty suspect over the first few weeks of the season.
Pick: Rockies (-120)
Last pick I have is the Brewers against the Reds tonight. The Reds can sneak up on you, but I think the crew will be fine tonight even with Gio starting (he’s surprisingly pitched well to start the year). Yelich and the crew roll.
Pick: Brewers (-150) or -1.5 if you’re really feeling it
5/17/19 (Buckets’ Record 8-6)
Sorry I wasn’t able to hit on the first couple games, that’s not on me that’s on the Rays and the Cubs who couldn’t close it out. I am for goodness sake the Rays had a shutout (obviously cuz the Marlins suck), but they couldn’t score more than a run. Then, we had the Cubs blow a lead against the Reds and lose in extras. Pathetic. Anyway, the parlay pick was lit as both the Red Sox and Dodgers held their own, saving my day.
First pick I have today is the Rockies on the road against the Phillies. The Phillies just lost a couple at home to the Brew Crew, but have had trouble scoring, so I like the Rockies today who have really been mashing the baseball. Getting Daniel Murphy back has been great for them and Blackmon and Arenado continue to stay hot.
Pick: Rockies (+110)
Next one I got tonight is the Stros at Fenway tonight. They simply cannot lose and the Red Sox are still shaky and I don’t really trust them. Combine that with Gerrit Cole on the mound and this seems easy to me despite the odds.
Pick: Astros (-150)
Last pick I have are a couple of unders with Max Fried on the mound for the Braves. 11 also seems rather high for the Cardinals and the Rangers.
Picks: Rangers/Cardinals under 11 (-105), Brewers/Braves under 9 (Even)
5/15/19 (Buckets’ Record 6-4)
Happy Launch Day everyone. We are hot winning 5 of 7, so let’s keep it going. Cubs, Rays, and Rockies all won yesterday. Let’s get into it.
I am just gonna keep riding the Cubs. I know Yu Darvish is on the mound tonight, but I have no idea how the odds are this low for a team this hot, even on the road. I love the value here, so let’s hit it.
Pick: Cubs (+125)
I think I like the Rays again tonight -1.5. I just cannot trust the Marlins at all. Rays have the opener out there again tonight and I think they beat the Marlins handedly.
Pick: Rays -1.5 (-105)
I also like these two picks and feel free to group them together and parlay them. Don’t think the Red Sox lose again tonight to the Rockies after blowing a big lead yesterday. Also, think the Dodgers beat the Padres again tonight with Kenta Maeda on the hill.
Picks: Red Sox (-155), Dodgers (-155)
5/14/19
Been a bit busy here during finals, but we got some winners today. Went 2-1 in our last outing bringing us to 3-3 on the season. Let’s see if we can get over .500 tonight. Let's get it.
Anthony Rizzo won’t be playing in this game, but Kyle Hendricks is on the bump and has been pitching well as of late. I like the way the Cubs have been playing too and the line seems too good to pass up.
Pick: Cubs (-110)
The Royals are trash, no way around it. I know they’re at home tonight and Danny Duffy is on the mound (3.06 ERA), but I like the value in the Rangers pick tonight at +125. The offense can put up runs, let’s just hope that Shelby Miller (T’s and P’s) can hold down the fort tonight.
Pick: Rangers (+125)
Next pick I have is the Rays against the Marlins tonight. Chuck Morton is on the hill for the Rays and while I know Caleb Smith has been the lone bright spot for the Marlins (2.11 ERA), the Rays are simply too good.
Pick: Rays -1.5 (+120)
Extra Pick: Rockies +1.5 (+110)
5/6/19
Buckets' Record: (1-2)
Had a rough day in my debut of this blog, but we’re back on the horse (shoutout to Maximum Security). A couple of tough breaks in the games last week, but confident in my picks tonight (as I will always be until I lose).
First one may seem a bit surprising considering the fact that Scherzer is on the mound. However, what you won’t see is the little nugget of info that the Nationals were on the tarmac yesterday until 3 am and didn’t get into Milwaukee until earlier today. That is enough for me to hammer the Brew Crew tonight. Nothing to do with the x’s and o’s, but cannot see the Nats coming ready to play tonight.
Pick: Brewers (-110)
Degrom is on the mound, that’s it.
Mets (-120)
Revenge series for the twins after losing 3 of 4 to the Jays earlier this year.
Twins (Even)
5/1/19
First pick, I’ve got is the Indians (-130) over the Marlins today. The Marlins suck and Kluber is on the mound, doesn’t really make sense as to why their odds are so low even though they are on the road and Kluber hasn’t had a great start to the season.
Pick: Indians -130
Second pick, I have is the under in the Braves and Padres game. The line is o/u 9, which seems really high for a couple of teams that haven’t gotten close the last couple nights (yeah I bet on them the last couple days too and it hasn’t worked out). Also, the Braves are at home and Max Fried has been dealing this year, so look for him to keep it going.
Pick: Under 9 runs Braves/Padres (-105)
My last pick should seem like a no-brainer the way these two teams have been playing. The Giants are so bad and the Dodgers scored 10 runs last night, and even though Bumgarner is pitching today, his best days are behind him. The odds are pretty good (-145), so I’m going to ride them again like I did last night because I don’t see them losing a series to the Giants whose average age must be close to 50.
Pick: Dodgers (-145)
